Relationship between Se-type and Ni-type (Se + Ni)
Se-type – Sensation Extraverted type, Ni-type – Intuition Introverted type
The relationship between Se-type and Ni-type is called dual and is considered the best for long-term relationship in a couple. In such a couple, the partners use their strengths to support each other's weak points; in other words, partners satisfy each other's deep anima/animus needs.
Strengths of the types:
• Due to his/her main Se-function, the SE-type is well versed in the world of material objects, confidently makes his way in the physical world, characterized by high physical activity, decisive overcoming of obstacles, independence and ability to confront. More about the Se-type here >>>
• Due to his/her main Ni-function, the NI-type understands the hidden dynamics of the human psyche, is able to reveal ulterior motives, is perceptive of underlying, hidden meanings and flow of time, feels that actions are timely or not, and predicts how things will play out. More about the Ni-type here >>>
In the SE-type, the Ni-function is the inferior function, or anima/animus. (More about anima/animus as functions here >>>)
The inferior function is always weaker than the main function. It is difficult for a person to manifest his/her inferior function independently; one need external support for his/her inferior function and feels grateful to others for this support. The inferior function (or anima/animus) is responsible for deep, usually unconscious needs. If a person does not have support for his/her inferior function, they feel they lack something, but don't know what.
SE-types usually have a weak inferior Ni-function, which makes it difficult for SE-types to perceive subtle, hidden things, and to understand their inner psychological state. Their sense of timing is poor. Thanks to his/her strong main Ni-function, NI-partner can help SE-type to perceive the subtle world of the psyche and the dynamics of various processes over time. SE-type is grateful to the NI-partner for supporting his/her weak Ni-function (anima/animus).
For NI-type, the Se-function is the inferior function, or anima/animus. This function is usually weak, making it difficult for NI-types to resist power pressure and defend their interests. They may lack the energy to take action in the outside world. Thanks to his/her strong main Se-function, SE-types can protect the NI-partner, help him/her realize his/her plans, and teach them to defend their interests. NI-type is grateful to the SE-partner for supporting his/her weak Se-function (anima/animus).
